Rackspace customers now have the flexibility to move their Microsoft applications from on-premise to Rackspace cloud or managed hosting at any time without any additional licensing. This benefit is available to Microsoft Volume Licensing (VL) customers with eligible server applications covered by active Microsoft Software Assurance (SA) contracts.

How It Works

Assess Your Microsoft Licenses
Work with your Microsoft representative, licensing procurement, or preferred reseller to confirm your licensing position:

The application server licenses you want to deploy must have active Software Assurance coverage.

The server applications must be on the following list of eligible products:

Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Standard Edition

Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Enterprise Edition

Microsoft Exchange Server 2010

Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010

Microsoft Lync Server 2010

Microsoft System Center Server 2010

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server

Verify Your Microsoft Licenses
Within 10 days of deployment, complete the License Verification Form available on the Microsoft Volume Licensing website. Once complete, provide it to your Microsoft representative or preferred resell partner in order for them to submit to Microsoft.
