
According to Tourism Queensland’s director of digital marketing Chris
Chambers, his organisation had first engaged Rackspace for its highly
successful 2009 tourism campaign Best Job In the World. That campaign saw
entrants from around the world compete for the job of caretaker of a
tropical island by submitting ideas to a speciallycreated website.

Few initiatives have been as successful at keeping the spotlight on the
problems of global warming as Earth Hour. Since the first Earth Hour was
organised by WWF in 2007 in Sydney, Australia, it has grown into a global
movement. On March 26th 2011, Earth Hour saw more than 5,000 cities in 135
countries turn off their lights for one hour to show their concern about climate change.
